Editorial Standards
How South Shore HVAC Finder researches, writes, sources and corrects its town pages and Learning Center guides.
Updated November 1, 2026
Our pages are meant to help South Shore homeowners make good decisions about heating and cooling work. These are the standards we hold them to.
Sources First
Facts about towns, permits, licenses and programs come from official sources wherever possible: mass.gov and state boards, town and city websites, utilities, the U.S. Census Bureau and similar primary sources. Local facts are linked to their source so you can check them yourself.
Independence
Contractors and partners don’t pay for, write or approve our guides. Featured pros can’t change what a page says about permits, licenses or how to hire. See our Advertising Disclosure.
How Pages Are Written
We use research and writing tools, including AI, to help gather and draft content. Every claim about a rule, license or program is tied to an official source, and pages are checked for accuracy and plain language before they are published. We don’t publish reviews, ratings or testimonials we can’t verify.
Dates And Updates
Guides show the date they were last updated. Rules, rebates and town requirements change, so we recheck time-sensitive details and update pages when they change.
Corrections
If you find an error, tell us through our contact page with the page address and what needs fixing. We review every report and correct mistakes promptly.
Not Professional Advice
Our content is general information, not legal, engineering or safety advice. Confirm requirements with your town and the relevant state agency, and talk with a qualified professional about your specific situation.
